“Not all who wander are lost.”
–  JRR Tolkien

After cruising for five years from San Francisco Bay to south Florida, Nancy Birnbaum, put her sailing experience to work and took a job as editor of the Seven Seas Cruising Association’s Commodores’ Bulletin. In just three years she helped SSCA redesign their website, populated the site with all the great resources that world cruisers need, helped to run the new seminar program, offering valuable educational programs across the country, and helped to preserve this excellent organization. And a new career was born.

NB-helm-close-upFor the next three years she took on the position of Online Editor for Blue Water Sailing Magazine and produced the Cruising Compass, an e-newsletter going out to over 25,000 opt-in subscribers. Prior to returning to the San Francisco Bay Area, she was with Southern Boating Magazine as Managing Editor.

Nancy currently works freelance, offering marketing assistance to small to medium-sized companies in the Marine/Boating Industry as well as applying her excellent skills as an editor and writer focusing on Adventure & Destination Travel as well as Luxury Cruising. She writes for a variety of popular online sites and print publications.  As an avid boater, she often includes environmentally-focused articles and ocean conservation as well. You can read her blog – YourCruisingEditor (http://yourcruisingeditor.wordpress.com/) – on WordPress.
